Throughout the last few years, ’60 has embarked on a journey to create music that transcends the stereotypical idea of what it means to make west African music. As a self-taught producer and vocalist, ’60 has been able to blend the two skillsets by consolidating elements from a multitude of genres.

On his latest single ‘Yes Indeed’, ’60 describes the difficulty he faces trying to enjoy his life. ’60 delivers a highlife-inspired electric guitar alongside an ethereal bass line. This lead melody sits on a modern drum pattern which is then highlighted by its dynamic range. The 808s further add to the texture by giving the instrumental more of a ‘bouncy’ feel to it. Finally, the vocals give the finishing touches by avoiding frequency range interactions.
